My maiden name was RICE (Belfast) and in my research found only that version
in Ireland but have only come across the Welsh versions RHYS and APRICE.
There is said to be a Gaelic version of RICE , the translated version of
which is O'MULCREEVY.
Mount Maunganui, New Zealand .
