MAE AUDRIA VOGELGESANG, Haven, Ks. - Mae Audria Vogelgesand, 94, died May
31, 2002, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler.
She was born May 1, 1908, at Milford, Ks., the daughter of James H. and
Pearl Mellinger Budden. A resident of Haven for 60 years, she was a
beautician for 70 years, starting in Junction City. she operated her own
shop in Haven from 1942 until her retirement in 1994.
She was a member of Haven United Methodist Church.
On Nov. 28, 1929, she married WALTER C. 'JACK' VOGELGESANG at Russell,Ks.
He died May 3, 1967.
Survivors include: a son, Robert L., Haven; a sister, Myrtle Carpenter,
Overland Park; four grandchildren, Richard D. Vogelgesang, Tareia J.
Vogelgesang, Jaye J. Vogelgesang Lopez, SueAnn Vogelgesang Schultz; four
step-grandchildren, John Kirk, Diane Norris, Karen Irby, and Jim Kirk; 13
great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jon R. Vogelgesang, two brothers,
James H. Budden Jr. and Chester D. Budden, and two sisters, Eunice Day and
Joan Custer.
Funeral will be at 2pm Tuesday at Haven United Methodist Church with the
Rev. Richard Brooks presiding. Van Campen Funeral Home, Haven. Cremation
will follow the service and inurnment will be at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to Haven United Methodist Church, in care of the
funeral home.
