Does anybody have advice on a CONVENIENT way to locate an author? The
publisher has a web site, which is not of much help, as it only responds to
purchase orders, and reviews of the publications.

I am trying to contact Henry E Jacobs, author of the German Emigration to America, 1709-1740.
A name search on the net is about as large as a search for Smith and Jones.

Is there a trade index or a Library of Congress Listing of authors somewhere?
