Subject: [GLA] RE. NEWS ITEMS OF 1924, NO. 370
Date: Sun, 9 Aug 2009 17:33:56 EDT
I noticed the mention of Ioan Trithyd in the News Items, and re-send part
of an article I have sent previously.
BARRY HERALD 1st Jan. 1897 - EISTEDDFOD AT LLANCARFAN
The day proved beautifully fine, and the chief attraction was the
Eisteddfod, organised by the Wesleyan friends, the proceeds of which are to be
devoted towards the liquidation of the debt on the Wesleyan Chapel. The
Eisteddfod was held in a spacious marquee erected in the school playground, which
was tastefully decorated with flags, mottoes, &c., characteristic of such
gatherings. Owing to the absence through indisposition of the genial and
witty "Ioan Trithyd" the duties of conductor were ably carried out by the
Rev. W. E. Evans, Bonvilstone.
