Re the query about the MARRINER brothers
The key word here is RND (Royal Naval Division), most of their records are
at the Fleet Air Arm Museum.
However I have contacted a pal (John Morcombe) who has made a study of the
RND, he has extensively researched the Marriner brothers and has scans of
their medals and Death Plaques. I have passed Alan Hutchins's message to him
and he will be in touch direct.
John has a web site www.jackclegg.com with a mass of interesting information
on the marines and RND.
Please excuse the "plug" but if you are a RND enthusiast you will want
this -
This site will give details of his 264 (A4 size) page book "If your alive
speak, if dead don't bother" about the life and death of his great uncle
Jack Clegg in the RND in WW1. It also has more than 60 pages of photos,
names and details of members of the RND, includes name, rank, number,
recorded fate, where commemorated, age and medal entitlement etc.
