Subject: [WW1] Death of John Mitchell CRAM

Hello Friends, I am seeking information on the death
on August 26, 1918 of John Mitchell CRAM. On the
Commonwealth War Graves Commission site he is listed
as being a Second Lieutenant in the 43rd Wing of the
RAF. I believe that he was enlisted as a member of
the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force but seconded
to the RAF. He is buried, with no cross or
grave-marker, in the Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa,
Ontario, Canada. This cemetery is very close to the
small Rockcliffe Air Base which, I am told, was used
for training in the Great War. His service records in
the National Archives of Canada make no reference to
his death or what his role was in the 43rd. Wing.
I would be very appreciative if anyone could give me
more information about his service and his death. He
is an ancestor of my wife and the family is very keen
to learn how and why he died.
Many thanks, Ian White in Canada.
