Hello Mervyn
1st Bn Devonshires were attached to 8th Brigade, 3rd Division, II Corps at
the time were fighting the Battle of Le Bassee, 16 October to 2 November
1914, and they were holding the line just SW of Fauquissart opposite Aubers.
I have a copy of "A Military Atlas of the First World War" by Arthur Banks,
if you wish to contact me off list I will scan the map showing 8 Brigade's
position on 20-24 October for you.
