Subject: [WW1] WWI cap badge

Just found a picture of my grandfather in a WWI uniform. Three stripes on his sleeve and a round badge on the arm with a cross in it. I gather from this that he was a sergeant in a medical unit. I enlarged his cap badge and spent the morning on google looking at web sites with pictures of cap badges. It is identical to the cap badge on the Royal Army Medical Corp except that, rather than the crown on top of the wreath, it has either an E or an F. Anyone have any ideas?
