Andy - "died" is the standard notation in the CWGC database - they do not
define the circumstances of death beyond the fact of death.

SDITGW shows 40941 James Sewell as killed in action 24/9/17; born and
enlisted Stratford. For the specifics of the Brigade actions about the time
in question you should look at the appropriate war diaries at PRO.
