This is an international list and all questions are welcome. However, you
are more likely to receive answers to your query if it is about a British
subject as it cannot be denied the information held by list members is more
comprehensive in that area. As ever, the key is to ask your question
anyway. No one will flame you for a 'silly' question, the whole idea of
this list is that those with information help those without. Just so long
as it is WW1!

On a related subject: a hint for new querents. Take a look at our taglines
(at bottom of every message, under heading ==== GREATWAR Mailing List ====).
There are ten taglines added in rotation and they offer useful hints &
starting points & so pre-empt many common enquiries. They also have
information about our sister lists for the Boer War & WW2.
