G'day Bob,

He is buried "somewhere in FRANCE". In other words he has no known grave
- refer the listing on the CWGC site - he is commemorated on The
VILLERS-BRETONNEUX MEMORIAL, Somme, France. The details there tell you
"Commemorated by name on the Memorial are over 10,000 Australian soldiers
who fell in the battlefields of the Somme, Arras and the "Hundred Days"
and who have no known grave."

No Australians who died in the European Theatre (including the UK) in WW1
were returned to AUSTRALIA for burial. Indeed, it was not until part way
through the VIETNAM conflict that the first Australian serviceman to die
overseas was returned to AUSTRALIA for burial.

The one exception, of course is "The Unknown Warrior", whose identity is
unknown.

In any case, apart from the fact that overseas deceased Australian
servicemen were not brought back to AUSTRALIA for burial, Sergeant
Reginald Weston TUXFORD has no known grave, and is commemorated on The
VILLERS-BRETONNEUX MEMORIAL.

I cannot access the AWM site at present, but the reference to a plaque in
AUSTRALIA will be the memorial listed on that site, which is the list of
all Australian servicemen who were war casualties, and is listed on
plaques, arranged alphabetically within each unit, at the Australian War
Memorial, CANBERRA.

Best Wishes
Phillip MURPHY
