I agree that arrogant and sarcastic posts are not part of any genealogy
research, but this advise goes both ways. When someone posts a message that
states " This list will administered in a manner where subscribers will be
treated with respect and dignity." To me sounds like a sarcastic remark
aimed at who knows who or at what site. If the author would be so kind as to
clarify his remarks then maybe we can put to rest the questions this remark
has raised.
Another question raised is the statement "My posts pertaining to the so
called "Keskastel Reebs" will appear on the GUS-REEB list and definately no
longer on the REEB-ROOTS list." My question is this, what are the "so
called Keskastel Reebs"? Since the author is so knowledgeable in regards to
the Reeb Family genealogy I'm sure he is more than capable to communicate
and exchange this information to all of us so that we all get to understand
this statement.
I encourage everyone to read and become a part of the GUS-REEB site as well
as the REEB-ROOTS and Reeb Family Association site. All are excellent
sources of information and most encourage a difference of opinion without
any recourse. ALL of us should support the various sites that contain any
information about our family and not snub one if there is a difference of
opinion. Lets all work together, and not as an individual. That accomplishes
nothing.

> I think most of us want good communications when it comes to family
history. I have noticed that so often on the e-mail lists, not just Reeb,
but others, people often respond only to the sender and in their responses
provide some very good information which could also be appreciated by most
if not all the list subscribers. Sometimes this can also have some negative
results. For example the person who posted the subject message may interpret
the words expressed in the responding e-mail to be similar or even the same
as the other subscribers on the list. However, I have noticed also that in
the past few years one e-mail list suddenly became a place for some arrogant
and sarcastic posts and I am hopeful that we can avoid that type of
communication on this list.

be as positive as possible with your posts. Also, I want to advise everyone
that I have selected the option for the responses to all posts to go to the
list not just to the sender of the e-mail the response is to. In other
words, each time you click in on the reply option just remember that you are
now communicating with everyone who is then subscribed to the list and not
just the person whose e-mail you just read.

and exchange information with each other. My purpose in revising and
re-starting this list was not to be devisive with people who post and read
on the Reeb-Roots list. However, I am devoted to our own family and I think
that we are a large family with many branches, many who descend from the
sisters and aunts of our Reeb, Rape, Reap, Reph, and other variations of the
name, grandfathers and multiple great grandfathers. Those of you who have
copies or at least are knowledgable of the book The Rape Family Tree may
remember that we are a inclusive family when it comes to our own. We realize
full well that the descendants of Elizabeth Rape Shute Hancock and the
descendants of her sister Catharine Rape Funderburk are Reeb descendants
just the same as Peter, Gustavus and Henry Rape. Similarly, often the step
and adopted children of our families are an important part of our family
history, at least to the bran!

support from other subscribers on the list if you wish but lets keep the
communications not just polite but kind. Our purpose is genealogy and
getting to know our family members.
