My name is Dennis Nichols, grandson of Jacob Voller who was a Reeb
descendant who came to Wisconsin from Keskastel in 1903. I have to go back
8 generations to find the Reeb surname, but what I lack in Reebness, I make
up for in Keskastelness :-)

I lived in Wisconsin all my life (until 2 years ago), having attended and
worked at the University of Wisconsin. After my retirement several years
ago, I re-activated my genealogy research that I had started 20 years ago.
It wasn't long before the long arm of John V. Reeb reached out and touched
me, providing a stunning amount of information on the Voller family. I had
the opportunity to visit John (and his favorite restaurant) in San
Francisco a few years ago. I now live in a motorhome full-time, allowing me
to be where it's warm in the winter and to make long summer stays in areas
of genealogical interest.

An interesting side-result of my research this summer has been the
development of a small Reeb tree in the Walworth County area of Wisconsin.
I've sent it off to John V in hopes he can connect it up.

All generations from my GrandParents to 7GGP were born and/or lived in or
near Keskastel. You may note the absence of Gustavus Reeb, since I don't
descend from him. Actually, I don't even know the connection between my
Johann Theobald Reeb and Gustavus' line. Johann Theobald appears to be
about the same generation as Gustavus' father, Johann Peter. I'm expecting
to find, some day, a cousin relationship of some order between Johann
Theobald and Johann Peter - it could be as close as first cousin. Hmmm, if
that were true then John V. would be my 10th cousin, making him the most
distant cousin I've met.

I want to close by thanking John for all his help and to say that I look
forward to interesting exchanges with the rest of you.
