According to "Slownik Geograficzny" in 1890 Zakopane was a village, with
3372 inhabitants. The Austrian government sold royal starostwo nowotarskie
having divided it into 6 parts, one of them was Zakopane. 1824 Zakopane
was bought by Emanuel Homolatsch, and his son sold it to M. Pelz.
Wladyslaw hr. Zamoyski bought it on 9 may 1889.
