Dear list:

"Fair is foul [fowl] and foul is Fair" - the three wirches in _MacBeth_ by
the Bard, William Shakespeare.

Okay, it seems that fowl is the discussion here, in particular peafowl:

Peacocks/peafowl (Pavo cristatus) originally came from Sri Lanka, India,
Pakistan, and the Himalayas. They are considered an ornamental bird and
exist in many parks and zoos throughout the world.

Their main habitat is deciduous forests, and they foraged in farmland [most
likely to the dismay of most farmers]. Their diet includes grain, berries,
green crops, insects, small reptiles and animals. Their gestation period is
18-28 days. The peacock can achieve a tail spread measuring out at 78 3/4 -
90 inches. They often drop a few tail feathers during molting season.

The peacock is a beautiful lawn ornament around one's estate, and they can
be good guards (like geese). The only bad part about a peacock is his cry.
It is loud enough to wake the dead!!!

I had a neighbor who raised them and they often wandered off their property.
Give me a rooster [chicken] anyday for my wake-up!!!

:-)

Felix the bird lover.
Smacking his lips....
