The map I had in mind is in the book Lietuvos totoriai ("Tatarzy
litewscy")("Lithuanian Tatars"))(1938) by Stanislaw Kryczynski. It was
translated from Polish into Lithuanian in 1993. Kryczynski (who
descends from a Tatar princely family) shows most Lithuanian Tatars as
having resided within a 50-mile radius of Lida, or within a territory
about the size of the US state of Maryland. (This includes Vilnius
(Wilno), Naugardukas (Nowogrodek), Kaunas (Kowno), and eastern
Podlasie.) Almost all Lithuanian Tatars lived within an area about the
size of the eastern half of the state of Ohio. If anyone would like a
copy of the map, I will be happy to SNAIL-mail it.
