Subject: [IAHENRY] WORLD WAR II SERVICE RECORDS.

Hi All: Where would I go to find my father's World War II Service Records? There is a question as to whether he enlisted or was drafted. Would these records be available in the Recorder's Office in Mt. Pleasant? When he was discharged from the Army, he would have had to register in the town he lived in -- right? That would have been Mt. Pleasant. (I was born in l944 and he served in the Philippines..)
Are there any WebSites that have lists of the men who served in the Army, from Iowa?
My father passed away in 2000 and his wife (not my mother) has refused to share any of his things with us.
She said that his service records were sealed... Why would that be so? I'd appreciate any suggestions or help in obtaining a copy of his service records.
Many thanks, Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert;
