Subject: [IAHENRY] DRINKALL & VANSICKLE Family Photographs
Date: Fri, 9 Jan 2004 11:33:02 -0800
I've "rescued" a group of photographs and calling cards which appear to
belong to the DRINKALL and VANSICKLE Families of Iowa and Nebraska. Those
photographs which are identified are:
Mrs. E. DRINKALL taken at the Edgar Draper Studio in Central City, NE,
probably taken in the 1890's or early 1900's with Mrs. DRINKALL appearing to
be in her teens or 20's at the time
John DRINKALL taken at the Nash Studio in Burlington, IA, probably taken in
the 1890's with John appearing to be in his 30's at the time
Photograph with couple, no location or studio noted, name "Hannah GRAY"
appears written on the back of the photograph (woman in photo looks much
like Mrs. E. DRINKALL)
Calling Cards are included for Elsie VANSICKLE (believe this is the same
person as Mrs. E. DRINKALL) and (2) cards for Roy DRINKALL
Based on limited research I believe that this may be a photograph of John
DRINKALL b. 1879 in IA who married Lydia Anna VANSICKLE at Central City, NE
in Feb 1911. This may be the same John DRINKALL included in the 1880 census
at Washington, IA living with his Mother Mrs. Elysabeth DRINKALL and 7
siblings including, George W.; Mary A.; Henry; Alfred; Clarra; Leroy; and
Frank DRINKALL.
John's sibling Leroy b. 1876 or 1877 may be Roy DRINKALL whose calling card
is included as I find Roy DRINKALL b. 20 May 1877 in Yarmouth, IA married to
Elsie May VANSICKLE b. 19 Mar 1882 at Central City, NE. Elsie May was the
daughter of John Burr VANSICKLE & Olive A. HUDNALL. Roy DRINKALL d. Dec
1979 in Nampa, ID.
There are an additional 11 photographs from Central City, NE; Burlington,
IA; Winfield, IA; and Red Wing, MN. None of these photographs are
identified, however, there are some resemblances to those in the identified
photographs leading me to believe they are related in some manner.
Thanks,
Shelley
