Subject: [IOWA] John Pleasants 1860 Davis Co., Ia census
Date: Mon, 3 Dec 2001 19:48:47 -0600
Hello, We are attempting to locate John Pleasants, and his family, who are listed in the 1860 Davis Co., Ia. census, with wife Elizabeth and their children, and his wifes' brother, John Jones, who enlisted shortly after the census, in the Iowa Cavalry, and was soon killed during the Civil War. His home was in Ks. and was visiting his sister Elizabeth, and is enumerated in their household in 1860. We are unable also to find his place of burial. He was wounded at Fort Donnelson, Tn (?) and hospitalized in a community named Blue Mound.......Is there such a place in Iowa? Looking to connect with any descendants of the John Pleasant family and to know what happened to John Pleasants after 1860. Thanks for any help you can give.
Ruth
