I guess the key to this is if you have any any inkling at all which County
this Bank was in, or where your uncle lived in this time period. That would
focus your search a bit. In those days with limited transportation I
understand most Bank robbers robbed counties near where they lived. Nice to
shuttle on home after a hard day's work. Then go to the newspaper morgues
(old newspapers) to see what they have. I would be either that County's
library or the County Genealogical Society can help you from there. The
Library for "that" count would most likely house the old newspaper films.
You could send away for those films via an inte-library loan and therefore
look at these films at your convenience at your very own library. If you
knew which county(ies) then that County Gen. Societies might have an idea of
what Bank was robbed and when. It might be that some of of their folks may
REMEMBER the event. If you don't know, start asking those older relatives
again -- or other people in town who may have known him or your
father/mother. Everyone knew everything about everyone else in those days.
Good hunting. Sandy Childs
