I am seeking information about Dewitt C. Akin. I have
census evidence that two of his children, Helena Akin,
and Dewitt Akin, Jr. were born in Iowa in 1864 and
1868 respectively so I know that Dewitt lived in Iowa
for at least 4 years.

I know that Dewitt C. Akin was born July 4, 1825 in
Port Byron, New York and that he married Helena St.
John September 1, 1845 in Johnstown, New York. I know
that after they moved to Iowa and lived there for some
unknown amount of time, Dewitt and Helena moved back
to New York and lived out their lives in Johnstown. I
cannot find evidence of Dewitt in Iowa and would
appreciate any information found.
