I know my Childers line inside and out and have a habit of referring to them by their full name whenever I am talking about them. However, when I go around family that actually knew some of the old times, I have to shift my thinking pattern. For instance:

James Franklin Childers was Uncle Jim
Mary Francis Childers was Aunt Fanny
Margaret Elizabeth Childers was Aunt Betty
William Thomas Childers was Uncle Bud
so forth and so on.

Me, I am Walter Jack Childers, but only the government and my mother ever call me Walter. Everyone knows me as Jack.
