I'll continue the discussion one more generation.

When our son was born, 1960, we had all sorts of "suggestions" from
both sets of grandparents.
My father's first name was Paul and my wife's Mother's maiden name was
King. We named him
Paul King which satisfied both sides equally. BTW, King is also the
maiden name of my Father's
Mother (Lucie Elizabeth King). Her folks came from Germany and my
Wife's King family, from
Canada via either England or France--not sure at this point.
