Lori,

In my own ancestory, which is of Luxembourg origin, the same name was used
over and over and over and over and .....

I think they ony had a few names to work with: Johannes, Peter, Mathew,
Nicolas, Michel, Karl and for the girls Marie, Margareta, Elisabeth, Anna..
It was quite commone in families with a dozen children or more to have three
Johns or Michels. Sometimes, a child would die either at birth or shortly
after and the name would be reused. On the other hand, in my grandfather's
family, there were three living Johns. One was always called John senior
and another John Jr.
