My great aunt Lillie I mentioned before, nicknamed Pete, didn't have any middle name. She lived to be 102, the apple of my eye. Anyway, for social security purposes she started using S as a middle initial, the S standing for her maiden name.
I had a good friend who died a few years ago and they didn't give him any name at all when he was born. I didn't believe him so he and I went to the vital statistic department to get a copy of his birth certificate and sure enough, it said Baby Boy Cotner. This man had traveled the world as an actor, was a Broadway producer in NYC, everything, and never was named. However, he unofficially called himself Stefan Cotner, but we all called him Frank because his father's name had been Frank !
I am a single father, never married to my daughter's mother. My daughter's first birth certificate said her name was Baby Girl Langdon, so I had it changed to read Kade Larue Childers.
