The only Kanesville I can find all seem to be in Pottawattamie county, IA. My
suggestion would be to go to Pottawattamie County and research the
information posted on the site.

Kanesville appears to have been absorbed into other towns within the county,
but I may be mistaken. The US Mapping Service indicates this is part of
Council Bluffs North--now if I haven't confused you totally-here is the URL for
Pottawattame County.

I checked the website and there appears to be a great deal of information on
the history of the county and a town still exists by the name of KANE, so I
think you will find the information you are seeking.
