Subject: [IOWA] Iowa Census for 1885?
Date: Wed, 1 Oct 2003 17:53:05 -0400
Is there a census for Iowa in 1885. According to Ida Mae Kirkendall's death certificate, Ida, her brother John Spicer and father Milton Kirkendall arrived in Iowa sometime in 1884. I would like to know where I might obtain copy of that census for checking Milton and family in Monroe County, perhaps Albia Iowa.
I have had news that Milton Kirkendall was remarried about that time. It would help to know if their were
another woman with them in Monroe County Iowa. Ida's and John's mother Jane Remy Kirkendall remarried in 1882 in Ohio to a Mr. Blankenship. The children apparently lost track of her after arriving in Iowa.
Again question is...where can I obtain copy of Iowa 1885 special census?
