I have also found ancestors that are not included in the index by doing a
page by page search .
Very time consuming.

I have noticed that Ancestry's 1895 census does NOT include all the counties
that they advertise--I found my O'Brien County ancestors in the Historical
Society of Iowa in their 1895 census microfilms , but they are NOT included
in
Ancestry's version.

Has anyone else noticed such discrepancies?
