Hi List,

One of the most interesting and well written books I have found on the last days of Custer and the 7th Cavalry is "The Battle of Little Big Horn" by Mari Sandoz.

Mari is a native of Western Nebraska (just south of the Pine Ridge Ogallala Indian Reservation). She has that special talent to capture and tell the story and portray the characters in a way that few authors can claim title. It has been a number years but I can still remember feeling that I was totally involved in the battle as I read the book.
