I'm trying to find the death date and where died on my Great-Uncle James
Fleming Newland who was born about 1844-1846 in Ohio. Moved to Keokuk Co.,
Ia in the middle 1850's and married Prudence DeLong in May, 1868 in Keokuk
Co. Ia. I have found James & Prudence Newland in the 1870 Keokuk Co., Ia.
census, the 1880 Calhoun Co, Ia. census, the 1900 Pocahontas Co, Ia. census,
in the 1920 Webster Co, Ia. census and on the 1925 Webster Co, Ia. State
Census.
I wrote to the Bureau of Vital Records in Des Moines to see if they had a
death certificate for James Fleming Newland. My request was denied because
they said he was not my direct lineage so I did not get his death date. Will
appreciate any help you can give me!!
