Hi, list,

I just received my dad's separation papers from the Navy. He served from
1942 - 1946, and his service stations were listed as: USNRAB in Ottumwa; Herzl
City Jr. College in Chicago; Naval Armory in Chicago; and, A&M College of Texas
in College Station, TX. I remember him telling my sister and I about times
he'd spent in Twentynine Palms and in the Aleutians, yet these stations aren't
listed. However, I'd requested his medical records and found that he'd spent
time at the Naval Hospital in Mare Island, CA. Do they not list every station?

My dad was an aviation machinist mate, and received an American Area Ribbon,
Victory Medal World War II, and Asiatic Pacific Ribbon. Were these standard
for those who served during WWII, regardless of where they served?

I appreciate any insight!
