Thank you one and all who responded with info, wittisms', sites and etc.
regarding
possibility of my mysterious great grandfather's 7th Cavalry career .... it
appears
that also is family myth. Its enough to wonder if I have an alien great
grandfather.

But the Iowa website is full of wonderfully helpful people and I thank all of
you for
your help.

My sister at one time said she couldn't understand why I wanted to do
geneology ...
no interest on her part at all. Well, part of the fun is all the wonderful
people you
get to meet, share stories, helpful hints and etc.! I can't understand why a
person
would not be interested!
