Cheryl,
I have an idea about
>from the death record in the United States. place of birth Doonulla Co.
Galway<
I think there might be an "h" in there, but the tall part of the letter was
left shorter than should be, and appeared as an "n". There is a Doohulla in
Ballindoon civil parish, out on the west end of Connemara, two miles SE of
Ballyconneely.
I'm afraid I haven't yet come up with anything for
>in the District of Lettermore in the Registrar's District of Oughterard
in the Co. of Galway. <snip> Place of birth TOUSSEEN. Toussen is written
three time on the birth record.<
I also checked for similar locations in the surrounding counties (because of
boundary changes during the 1800's), but can't find anything. There are not
a lot of "Tou - " places in Ireland. "Too - " would be more likely, as in
Tooreen......of which there are plenty. By the way, in your letter you used
two spellings of the place (typing too fast <g>). Is it Tousseen or Toussen
? I assume it's handwritten, so perhaps you could find some possible, other,
spellings? Without some alternatives, I doubt I can find much else for this
place. No knowledge of where this person lived later in life ?
