Hello Listers,

I hope that everyone has had a happy Christmas, and will have a great New Year.

With the number of subscribers increasing I thought I might take the opportunity to repost my interest in the Herity surname, in the hope that someone may have located them whilst looking for their own family.

Michael Herity married Jane Lemon at St Albans Church in Macclesfield in 1853 http://www.hickson.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ByCounty/Macclesfield.html. He was 30 and she was 19. His father, John, was a labourer and her father John Lemon was a weaver.

In the 1861 census it mentions that Michael and Jane were from Ireland, in 1881 the census states that Michael was from Ballymohe/Ballymo and Jane was from Dublin. They had the following children:

John
Kate
Mary
Tom
Annie

I would be grateful if you could advise me on how I could find out more about their roots in Ireland.

Thank you for taking time to read this post.

All the best

Jim
