Subject: [KYBARREN] IN CLOSING ON WEDNESDAY

I've been quiet this week - daughter Shelley is still ill one week later
but hopefully improving. I'm worn to a frazzle right now and not perking
too rapidly as I fight a cold or what she had (which is putting many people
in the hospital). My toner and drum are out on my copier and back ordered
for a week now. SO........
I hope the family sheet posts (currently WINN) are helpful, I will do this
on a hit and miss basis - I have likely 300 family files.
I'm going to rearrange my posting schedule - some days are just too heavy.
So you might want to print this off. I will show my source data posting
days and the series I am currently running:
MONDAY:
Still Barren Co. Current running: Peters Creek Baptist Church Membership,
1850 Census, Death Records and the old surveys.
Another volunteer is posting the Barren Co Cemeteries.
TUES:
Warren Co: 1804 tax records, Court of Quarterly sessions, marriages.
Green Co Marriages - done by a volunteer.
Edmonson Co 1860 census and cemeteries.
WED:
Logan Co marriages 1790-1875
Metcalfe Co Births
Hardin Co Marriages
THURS:
Hart Co Cemeteries
1870 Cumberland Co Census, WWII Soldiers
FRI:
Allen Co 1850 Census and postoffices/postmasters
Adair Co Marriages
I've been asked by several if all the church entered the tidbit news such
as Concord that I posted yesterday. For the majority, yes. The late Eva Coe
Peden transcribed several churches in Metcalfe and Monroe Co and she
abstracted quite thin but did leave the names in. The ones that I have done
are total copy. Some clerks, most of them uneducated, at least got recorded
the date, who was the moderator of the business session (normally the
pastor), new members, transfers, exclusions, repairs on church,
associational meetings, and of course, the "difficulties" which had to be
investigated by the deacons/elders. Many included also flowery obits, not
too many marriages. Extensive membership lists were kept, protracted
meetings (revivals) results. Most of the membership lists showed when the
person joined, when they left (if they did), reasons for leaving (death,
exclusion, transfers), the married names of the women, slave's names and
who owned them. Some included the date of baptism. The one Presbyterian
church book I have by Peden (Lick Branch) has the baptisms for the
children. On some of the books I've transcribed, I've run the census
records and marriages and included this data with the names when they
joined or left.
I'm still trying to answer all the lookup requests believe me! Have a
wonderful day! Sandi
