About once a month (or more often!) warnings go about about various
viruses, screen savers, etc. 99.99% of these are hoaxes, but it is hard to
keep up with them. There are several excellent web sites that list the real
and the hoax -here is one that I have bookmarked and easy to read.

http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/hoax.html

Symantec is a legit site - you can just type in the name of the virus, it
will bring up all the aliases, if it's real or not and what to do if it is
real.
