I am related to the family of Burks from Louisville and Breckinridge County.
There is a connection of Dan Burks who just died July 2 l999 brother of Eliza
Payne , school teacher, living in Hardinsburg, ]
I have written Eliza Payne some time ago but failed to get a reply as she
seems too infirm.
I am interested in corresponding with someone in that family who can fill in
some gaps for me. I may have information for the responder as well as I have
info back to Rev War soldiers Richard S Stephens (Stephensport founder) and
John Burks with possible brothers for John (Isham, Nicholas, and Samuel) all
arriving in Jefferson County shortly after l780. The 4 seemed to be related
but may not be brothers.
Isham seems to be son of John Peartree Burks. John and John Peartree Burks
had wives named Elizabeth but it is fairly certain they are NOT the same
person.
Appreciate any assistance.
The connection needed is from Daniel Stephens Burks to my line John Burks
born May 20 l824 and married to Eliza Stephens15 November 1855.
