Dianne:

Isn't it probable that the Elisha Monis named below was
instead, Elisha Morris? In the deed, is it definitely Monis
vs. Morris? There are several families in the 1850 Breck.
Co. census named Morris, but none named Monis.

Another hint: Just because James Ingram doesn't appear in
the index for a census doesn't mean that he isn't there. My
wife's gg-grandfather [Charles Graham] is not listed in the
back of the book for 1850 Breckinridge Co., KY census, pub.
by West-Central KY Family Res. Assoc.; however, by looking
at each page, I found them as Dist. 1, #492 - GRAYHAM, Charles.
Neither Graham nor Grayham appear in the index. So, anyone
who merely checks the index will conclude that the Charles
Graham family must not have lived in Breck. Co., KY in 1850.

Good luck,
Larry A. Nelson
