If this is Abigail Norton, wife of Frederick Dowell Basham, I show her
as born 8 Aug 1802 [or 1807] in Whitehall, Washington Co., NY.
Unfortunately, I don't know the source. Whitehall, NY is due south of
Lake Champlain.

If you don't have one, buy a Kentucky Atlas with GPS grids by DeLorme.
If you're in/near KY, stop at Sam's Club and buy one for ca $10.
Otherwise, order one from your local Barnes & Noble bookstore for ca
$17.
Both Norton Valley & Sugar Tree Run are shown in Breckinridge Co., but I
couldn't find a Whitehall in Breckinridge Co. in the index.

A "ballpark" location for Sugar Tree Run [appears to be a small creek]
is shown as 2½ to 3 mi. N-NW of Lodiburg, beginning near Frymire and
ending at Sinking Creek between Mystic and Sample, KY [page 33 in the
atlas].

Norton Valley is shown on page 47 located almost centrally on a line
between Webster & Hardinsburg, i.e., ca 6-7 mi. SW of Webster, or NE
of Hardinsburg, KY. Obediah Basham and Celia Dowell are said to be
buried in a Basham Cemetery in Norton Valley. We believe we were in
that cemetery in April 2000.

White Hall, KY is shown as a small town north of Richmond [Madison Co.]
along I-75, on page 52.

Also, KY has a nice feature where you can see and print a topo map of
any specific area in the State. Go to http://ukcc.uky.edu/%7Eatlas/ ;
then:
1) Enter Norton Valley in the box;
2) Select the county;
3) Click on topo viewer on the bottom line of the alternatives;
4) Wait for the map to download.
