My family, John L. Long, 1799-1853, and wife Lousiana Payne, 1808-1876,
[married June 26, 1822 ... I know not where] were in Breckinridge County in
the 1840 census and in 1844 when daughter, Mary Ann, married Elijah
Covington Phelps (who was killed in the Civil War). By 1850, they are
living in Tobinsport, Perry County, Indiana.

While I have much on this family, (including family records, an Atlas,
census etc., most of the family members with dates, family lore, and
secondary families) many of their burial places remain elusive. I do know
where Louisiana is buried on the family homestead in Texas. However, John L
and his daughter Lucyan died about the same time and I find no burial place
for them.

Lucy Ann Long, 1836-1863) married James Jackson Henderson in Perry County
IN. After her death, James remarried and the grandmother Long and two sons
took the 4 children down the river and cross country to Texas leaving James
Jackson & his new wife behind. There is some evidence that some children
remained with the new family and we now have Bible records from that family.

They were riverboat folks and I think it might be very possible that they
were actually buried back in Kentucky which is where most of the children
were supposedly born.

If anyone has some ideas or suggestions for me, I'll be most grateful.
Hopefully, I've given the list enough details to work with. I can certainly
give more if needed.

Regards,
Shirley Erickson
