On July, 20, 1841, Rhoda Johnson married James Peters in Hardin County,
Kentucky. On the 1850 census for Breckinridge County, James and Rhoda
Peters are listed with three children:
Margaret 8 years old
Eliza A. 6 years old
James 5 years old
Something happens to James Peters (unable to determine) and Rhoda Peters
marries Lewis Duvall in Hardin County on April 7, 1859. On the 1860 census,
Rhoda and Lewis Duvall are in Bullitt County with Eliza Peters (age 17) and
James (age 15) - Margaret is not listed. My first thoughts were she
married, but I was unable to find a marriage record in Kentucky - so I made
the assumption she had died. The Breckinridge Archives recently found a
deed which proves she did not die. In this deed, the three Peters children
of Rhoda Johnson Peters Duvall deed land to Rhoda's brother, John Johnson of
Breckinridge County. It list the children as James Peters, Eliza and
Margaret - the only problem is, I can not read Margaret's last name. My
first impression is Margaret Duvall - I can make out the D and the two LL at
the end. It could also be Dowell. Does anyone have a Margaret that they
can't trace who was born approx. 1842?? Any help would be appreciated!!!
