Dear Theresa: I asked a friend, Wayne Meador, if he could assist. Here is what he sent to me.

"Thomas M.C.L.Matthews was the second son of Samuel Edwin Matthews and Eleanor Maxwell. Cordelia S Askins was a daughter of William Askin and Eliz ? .Thomas MCL Matthews was married first to Martha J. Godsey...Thomas and Cordelia are living in Breckinridge Co., KY, in the 1860 census, but I have not found them thereafter. several of Cordelia's siblings moved to Missouri and I have read/heard that Tom and Coldelia moved there as well.

That is about all I can tell you."
