Message Board Post:

Hi:
I'm not sure if I ever answered your request, if not I'm sorry! Here is the information I have for Jarred Brickey; his Will and my notes:
Excerpt from the Bedford Co., VA. will books records, Jarret Brickey. Pages: 40-41
dated: October 7. 1790:

"To my loving wife, Elizabeth during life the land and plantation whereon I know live with all my household furniture and stock of every kind. After her death to be equally divided amongst "her fore children" (Viz) Patey, Christopher, Nancy and Milley.
To my son John, 5 shillings
To my son Peter that tract of land and plantation whereon he now lives.
To my daughter Molley Slinker 5 shillings
To my daughter Winney Thompson 5 shillings
to my daughter Temperance Thompson 500 weight of Tobacco to be paid out of my last payment in a bond I have on William Thompson for six thousand weight of Tobacco.
To my son Jarratt 1000 weight of Tobacco out of the last payment on the above mentioned bond.

George Rusher (I) and "Anney" Rusher were Witnesses to Jarret Brickey's will, as well as: "Fedrick" Slinker. The will was also "Proven" by the same 3 people. Probate date: Bedford Court, 25 April 1791: Executors Thomas Pate and Matthew Pate.

NOTE: This seems to be proof that William Rusher knew Jarret and Elizabeth Brickey before Jarret's death. His parents witnessed the man's will, and I'm guessing he was a neighbor.
I found William & Elizabeth's wedding date in the Quaker records for Bedford County, Virginia. Several of George Rusher's childrens marriages were recorded there as well. Carole V. Beringer

Information confirming the above:

Westmoreland County, Virginia. Found in Deed Book 15 1816-1819 p. 490 (Bedford County, Va.)
Dated Dec 28 1818
"Samuel James, Atty for William Rusher and Elizabeth, his wife-late Elizabeth Brickey, widow of Jarret Brickey, George Bruner & Patty his wife, late Patty Brickey, Christopher Brickey, Nancy Brickey, John Barber and Milly his wife, late Milly Brickey, heirs and devises of Jarret Brickey deceased all of Breckinridge County, Ky. to Jonathan Jones of Bedford County, Va. f50-159 ac on Stanton River granted by commonwealth to John Phillip Weaver by patent dated 18 Jul. 1784 and by ___conveyance to Jarret Brickey by deed-boundaries Sinking Spring, James Campbells old line...Simmons line...

NOTE:I don't have a copy of this document...it was sent to me by a descendent. It sounds like Elizabeth Brickey Rusher died before 1818...from the dates of the children, "her fore children" (Jarret's will) Patsy Christopher, Nancy and Millie. Patsy was b. about 1784-85, so Jarret and Elizabeth were probably married before...1783...?
