Gensearch is a low cost operation similar to Family Tree Maker , Ancestry,
or Genealogy.com. They can be subscribed to directly (_www.gensearch.com_
(http://www.gensearch.com) ) I believe for about the same price. The CD may come
from them or from the individual. I am not sure but dont recall his name as
the operator seems to be someone named Cliff Manis.
I would suspect that the offer is valid and worthwhile. It does violate
rootsweb rules against sales pitches but, since it is low cost Genealogy, I would
tend to give it a pass. They have a lot of data but I would guess that it is
a small fraction of Ancestry or Genealogy.com. A lot of their data seems to
be raw data and recordings. Genserve seems to be mostly family trees without
much other data.
