Hi all...

The last of the Big Spring Methodist Church South records were added today,
completing the posting of the images and transcriptions of both books. Many,
many thanks to Jess Scott for graciously granting permission to use her
copies to post on the site. The records provide a real insight to the times, the
people, and the church it's self.

On the census', Judy Hartsock and I are working on transcribing/keying in
the 1870; Wilma Kaplan will be starting on the 1880 census. Once Judy and I
are finished with the 1870... she will be second transcriber to Wilma's 1880,
and I'll start on the 1900. Slowly but surely we'll have the written info up
for you all to see and begin getting information from.

And thanks to all who have written offering suggestions and advice
concerning the census images'. Hopefully I've gotten back to all regarding it. One
individual put me in touch with Charlie Gregory from the Smith County,
Tennessee GenWeb. The person was hoping the good fortune they had with access to
census images would work for us... unfortunately, it won't help at present. He
did suggest a few things, which I'm going to email the list admin concerning
what the protocol is regarding it. So for now, we'll be without images...
but maybe in time.

With that... here's the recent additons/updates to the site:

Methodist Episcopal Church South; Big Spring Conference Records:
Olla Mae Clarkson Hardaway letter
Mrs. J. H. Harned church certificate
1886 - 1900 membership rolls (P-W)

1848-1899 Methodist Episcopal South Conference Church records
Miscellaneous records (two pages of Accounting sheets)

Happy Hunting!!
Dana
