Hi all...

I've been a little busy lately, and also have been in the process of changing Internet service providers. Wanted to email and let you all know some exciting things regarding the Breck. Co. GenWeb Archives site.

I just returned from spending 5 days in Breck. Co. and came away with a lot of things to hopefully help everyone out. I was able to completely photograph Old Ivy Hill Cemetery, Garfield Cemetery, Bright Whitworth Cemetery, Bruner Cemetery #3, and Hensley-Dowell Cemetery. There were several others I wanted to complete but lack of time and an overabundance of sinus troubles kept me from doing anymore than what I did in the out of doors. I also was able to get the Garfield Baptist Church roll book (I believe it's 1900 or around that time frame), and the roll book entries for Mt. Zion Baptist Church for several years within the mid 1820's to the mid/late 1830's. This particular Mt. Zion Baptist Church started out in Breckinridge County, but when Hancock County was formed from western portions of Breck. Co., this church "suddenly" found it's self moved and in another county. I wasn't able to get right now, but will within the coming month or so, the rollbooks for CloverCreek!

I also received permission to post the marriage listings that the Rev. James Taylor did in Breck. Co. (these were abstracted by the late Daniel "Lynn" Bolin), and permission for something very special to place on the Archives site. I was able to meet Bobby Priest while we both were in Hardinsburg at the courthouse Archives, and he not only gave permission to use his Civil War veterans records he's compiled over the many years... but has said anything he has, is there to be used. In addition to all this, I was able to get about 30-40 original wills copied.

All this to say, I am really going to need more help if anyone is interested. I have the rollbooks scanned and can send the pictures via email or snail mail (on CD), I can scan the Civil War pages as well as the Rev. Taylor's marriages and do with them as I can the rollbooks. I know myself and two other ladies are knee deep in the 1870 and 1880 census' and it'll be a bit before I can fully load the other items on if I have to transcribe and then key them in.
