I just checked another book I have and it has basically the same
transcription as I typed earlier today.

Benjamin Clarke married Nancy Eskridge MATTHEWS, Bond, William Love. It
is dated 8-17-1807. The difference is Bond is William LOVE, not by William
Love. Since I didn't have anything that said what the transcription meant,
I typed by, when it should have said he was the bondsman. Not sure about
the marriage date of 8-23-1807 that was in the other. Perhaps that is when
the minister's return was sent in. There were often mistakes made in these
early records when it came to bond, marriage licenses, and marriage return
dates.
