Hi all...

It is with great pleasure and pride that I announce the beginning of the World War I Draft Registration Card transcriptions being put online. At present pages "A", "B", "C", and "D" are in place along with the main WWI Draft Registration Card Index page, and only the letter "A" has a partial linking as it take time to upload the transcriptions to the server once I get them. I'm hoping by the end of the night to have a portion of the "B's" that I've received online... if not all that I've received so far.

The transcribers have tried to stay as true to the card as possible, yet all are Breck. Co. researchers and have been working collectively to make it possible to verify spelling corrections of names/locations on each card. As such, in some cases you might see more than one listing of a particular surname, ie. Carman/Carmen/Carmon/Carnnon, and we've tried to include all those known variants as possible so as to help out any and all researchers as much as possible. Bear in mind, there will probably be some names that we just don't catch as a variant of another name, so be prepared to view all the entries for what may have been missed.

I can't thank Arlene, Dave, Jen, Peggy, Donde, and Betsy enough for all the hard work they've put in to date... and continue to put in. Arlene was only able to help out on the "D" transcriptions before cataract problems sidelined her and she's not going to be able to help anymore. But her dedication, as well as the others, is something I know all of you appreciate and will continue to see over the coming months.

So without further ado, here's where to find the info. In the "Military" section, you'll find a link to the "World War I Draft Registration Cards". When you click on that link, it will direct you to the main page that will house surname pages. Just choose which page the surname you are looking for resides on, and click on it.

Happy Hunting!
