I am not related to this line. I watch the Breckinridge County message boards for other reasons. I spied your data thereupon concerning the Macedionia Baptist Church. I have a very good friend and fellow family historian who goes there every year for a family reunion. He does not post messages upon message boards. I sent him your message about the church and his response is forwarded herewith just below my message. It may interest you and assist your research. If nothing else, it will resolve your "riddle" concerning the definition of a 'bucker.'
See below for the response of Wayne Meador. I can supply his electronic mail address should you desire to contact him directly.
Kindest regards,

"Edward Crittenden Burton, son of Edward Burton and grandson of George Burton of Virginia, and his wife, Katie Preston, were the donors of the original one acre of land for the building of the Macedonia Baptist Church in 1889. "Crit" (Edward C.) was a younger brother of Allen and George Burton. Edward Burton purchased the 400 acre farm, later known as the Burton Farm, from William E. Matthews in 1844 prior to his moving to Wayne Co Illinois.
My great, great grandfather, Rev. Henry David Burch, both a neighbor and friend of Crit Burton, is given credit for the organization of Macedonia Baptist Church. E.C. (Crit) Burton signed the bond on the marriage certificate of the marriage of H.D. Burch and Catawba Matthews.
A "bucker" in a stave mill was the operator of a BUCK saw which was used to cut the wooden staves to size prior to their being formed into barrels." (Courtesy of Wayne Meador)
