John T. Keenan was NOT the witness to Ed Burton's will. John T. Keenan was a nephew of John Keenan who witnessed the will. John Keenan, the witness, was a Breckinridge County Court Clerk, a "professor" as he called himself, a surveyor, and a farmer. One of his younger brothers, Lawrence Thomas Keenan, was the father of John Thomas Keenan who married Telitha Ann Taul. John Thomas Keenan is buried on the farm where he lived near Tar Fork (now a defunct community) on the Tar Creek waterway. John T. Keenan died from tuberculosis. His wife, Telitha, is buried in the Taul Cemetery in Breckinridge County, Kentucky. This cemetery is on the east side of County Rte 105 south of Cloverport about 6 miles or so. The John Thomas Keenan farm was some 15 miles from the farm of his uncle, John Keenan, the "professor," who lived just two miles west of Falls of Rough on Rough Creek (then) which is now Rough River.
Francis Keenan
